This is a coeducational, self-supporting school in Soto-kanda (Akihabara area), Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. Since students are from various countries, the school is a kind of ‘melting pot’. The annual school festival is the extremely important event at Akihabara, since its proceeds are used to operate the school. At the event, the top-ranked club or project can make any request. To meet the requests, the school has extended its building one after another. As a result of this unreasonable expansion, the school building has shaped a huge ring.
‘Hospitality’ or Omotenashi is a compulsory subject; Sports events and school trips are very popular. The cafeteria also enjoys popularity, because of a large variety of items.
Akitsu Mitsuba
Akitsu Mitsuba is a 17-year-old Japanese female and president of the school council. She is active with her mission to keep the school discipline and rules while she respects unrestrictive school practices. She has stayed away from the clubs she belongs to: a young stars research club, a card games club and a vocaloid club, because she is now busy in the school council operations.
She had enjoyed her Akiba life in several otaku-related clubs. However, something unexpected happened to her. Then, she made up her mind to become a student council president. Her dream is to play in her own band. She secretly makes songs by using vocaloids.
Tenohara Korone
Tenohara Korone is a 17-year-old Japanese female. All her family has a great interest in handmade machinery: her grandfather is an audiophile, while her father enjoys his self-made PC. She is an easygoing person. She is a member of the electronics handicraft club.
She wears information technology equipment under her overalls. Her dream is to transform high-rise buildings in Akihabara into huge robots. Her special skill is to make friends with anyone anyplace speaking only in Japanese.
Andrew
Andrew is a 19-year-old American male. Unexpectedly, he really loves anything cute. He has a frenzy for pop culture, especially girl’s pop culture, so girls hesitate in associating with him. His admiration for Japanese pop culture tends to go to extremes. He belongs to a boxing club, though he shares it with few people.
He likes to party. So he is always in a place something enjoyable is happening and stirs up the scene. He has over 1000 T-shirts no one knows where he bought them. Some secret fans of his T-shirts are looking forward to seeing what pattern he wears.
Rohan
Rohan is a 16-year-old Indian male with an interest in high-tech. He loves Japanese culture and understands its spirit such as wabi and sabi. A bar of jellied sweet-potato paste or imo-youkan is a big favorite of his, and he eats it to get energy. When he runs out of imo-youkan, he stops working. He belongs to a tea ceremony club.
Because of his strong interest in IT, he has programming or creating systems at his fingertips. He is quick to purchase cutting-edge mobile devices and uses them all the time. If he stops walking suddenly, it is because he is in a place radio waves cannot reach.
Jung-Soo
Jung-Soo is a 20-year-old male budding K-pop young star from Korea. Something glittering surrounds him. The way he thinks is unique. He is a good-looking young man. He is eager to be a top musician in Japan. He belongs to a young stars research club.
He cares a lot about his appearance, so his pockets are full of healthy food. Cute girls are his weakness. He softly comes closer to a cute girl and whispers, “Hi, do you want soybean milk?” She gets cold feet. He looks like a real star from a distance, so he has his secret admirers.
Élise
Élise is a 21-year-old literary enthusiast from France. She came to Japan to know the Japanese soul. Boys have asked her out but ended in failure, because they could not keep up with her literary talk. She is a member of the literature club.
Her freckled face is attractive, though she looks worried. She is a big sister figure. She always carries a large portfolio with her, but no one knows what is inside it.
Lyusya
Lyusya is a 16-year-old fashion devotee from Russia. She comes from the land of cosplay. Because she is quiet, she looks mysterious. She belongs to a cosplay club.
She loves rice crackers or senbei. She tries to eat them in secret, but it always comes out because she makes a crunching sound. She wants to talk with other students more and more, but her country is so cold that she is not accustomed to speaking so much. This custom makes her slower than other people when she speaks to others.
Xue Lan
Xue Lan is a 18-year-old Chinese female. She dreams of becoming a cooking expert. She is a bungler, but she doesn’t give up easily. She is older than Mituba and Korone, though she is treated as younger one. She belongs to a cooking club.
She is such a hasty person that she often falls down. So she carries a Chinese pan on the back to protect her buttock. She is studying Japanese cuisines to add to her repertoire. While she is wondering what seasoning to choose, she burns the pan.
